The dataset is available for use with the Armed Conflict Dataset for the period 1946–2002 produced by Uppsala University and the International Peace Research Institute, Oslo (PRIO) (Eriksson, Wallensteen & Sollenberg, 2003 Gleditsch et al., 2002) with the Correlates of War Dataset (Sarkees, 2000) of wars in the period 1900–97 and the Fearon & Laitin (2003) dataset on civil conflict in the period 1945–99. This dataset includes statistics for all battle deaths (soldiers and civilians killed in combat) in state-based armed conflicts.
